# How to Restrict a Formula

Restricting a formula is an important way to reduce model cell count and lower server memory usage.

1. Open the cube by clicking on the cube name.

2. Refresh the workview.

3. Right click on a cell, and click "Edit Formula"

4. Click on Formula List

5. Find the formula you would like to update in the Formula List

6. Update the formula restrictions
