# Apply New Header Labels Using Formula / Override A Header Label Using Formula

Replaces the displayed header text for each element in the working list with the result of a formula, instead of the element's name or alias. Useful when the dimension's naming doesn't produce the header text you actually want to show.

#### Example

```
ELEMENT("Scenario") & " - " & ELEMENT("Time")
```

Produces a combined header like `Actual - 2024 Jan` instead of showing Scenario and Time as two separate header rows. Since this replaces the header entirely, it's usually paired with [Hide Dimension Headers](/set-instructions/hide-dimension-headers) to avoid showing the original headers alongside the custom one.
