# hierarchy.hasMember

Checks whether a member exists within a hierarchy.

```js
hierarchy.hasMember(dimension, hierarchy, name)
```

#### Parameters

* `dimension` - The dimension in which the hierarchy exists.
* `hierarchy` - The hierarchy in which to check for a member.
* `name` - The identifier of the member.

#### Example

```js
if (hierarchy.hasMember("Account", "Profit and Loss", "Operating Expenditure")) { 
    //do something 
}
```
