# Authentication

## Connect to MODLR

The authentication group is used to Connect and Disconnect from MODLR.

Clicking on **Connect** will open up the [Cloud Login](/excel-addin/authentication.html#cloud-login) pane.

### Cloud Login

Provides the ability to login to MODLR and access multiple instances.

To access an individual instance using the instance URL (*instance\_name*.modlr.cloud), the user can click on [Instance Login](/excel-addin/authentication.html#instance-login) at the bottom of the pane.

### Instance Login

Provides the ability to login to a individual MODLR instance using the instance URL (*instance\_name*.modlr.cloud)

## Disconnect

Use Disconnect to logout of MODLR.

## Changing your active instance

Alternative Instances can be accessed using **Change Active Instance**.
