# POSITION

Returns a number which represents the specified elements position in a specified hierarchy.

```js
POSITION(dimension, hierarchy, element)
```

#### Parameters

* `dimension` - The name of the dimension.
* `hierarchy` - The name of the hierarchy.
* `element` - The name of the element.

#### Examples

```js
POSITION("Time", "FY2023", "2023 - Jun")
```

**Note:** If the hierarchy is comprised only of the months in calendar order, this function will return 6.
