# MAPPEDELEMENT

Returns the element for the specified dimension within a mapping entry.

```js
MAPPEDELEMENT(mapping, dimension, direction)
```

#### Parameters

* `mapping` - The name of the mapping.
* `dimension` - The name of the dimension for which an element will be returned.
* `direction` - The direction "LR" or "RL".

#### Examples

```js
MAPPEDELEMENT("Map Date to Week", "Week", "LR")
```

**Note:** Assuming the cell being calculated is against the Date element `2020-01-02`, this will return the associated week from the mapping `2020 - Week 1`.
